Any profession requires preparation and skills, but most of all, confidence. Hence, teachers should develop the confidence to achieve their aims in their profession and their lives. Thus, if a teacher lacks confidence, it can become a relevant issue in its profession. Moreover, it could harm the learning process of the students. Okay, so we're going to use this pro-forma as our lesson plan and we're going to fill one out as though we were planning for an actual lesson. Teaching Idioms and Slang: Why Learning Idioms and Slang Connects Cultures
When it comes to learning a new language, the way that we make it comfortable for us is to try and relate it to our language. How many times have you met someone from another country and you ask them how to use swear words or how to say something is cool in their native language. Since English is very commonly spoken all over the world, for students to learn idioms and slang is for them to not only learn how to say certain things but get a deeper cultural understanding. With that deeper understanding comes relativity to their own lives, which means they see the ways that we are more similar instead of different.

Why Take a TEFL / TESOL course
There are many reasons to take a TEFL course, not least because it is the best way to enable you to work almost anywhere in the world as an English teacher. While there are still some countries and employers that do not require teachers to have a formal TEFL/TESOL qualification these places are gradually becoming few and far between and the days where simply being a native speaker of English were enough to guarantee a teaching job are mostly long gone.
Increasingly, those hoping to teach English as a foreign language are required to have a certificate of at least 100 hours if not 120 hours. Therefore having a TEFL certificate opens up far more employment opportunities than would be available without one. Taking the time to study and complete a course... [Read more]
