Online TEFL Courses vs. In-Class Study
Online TEFL courses versus Onsite TEFL courses? Which is the best choice? In this essay, I will define what is an online course and onsite course, listing the advantages and disadvantages of both, and at the end giving my opinion on which I feel from my experience is the best choice.
First, let's look at what is an online TEFL course. An online course is defined as a course that uses information and communications technology (internet) for learning TEFL. Online courses are very popular these days because they allow for a greater degree of flexibility for students. Some people will not agree but let us look at some of the advantages and disadvantages.

Productive and Receptive Skills in the ESL Classroom - Writing Skills - Study Phase
So, for the study phase what we're going to do is to show them the idea of the cartoon strip. In the cartoon strip what there's going to be are some people with speech bubbles and this is going to represent where dialogue will appear and in the bottom, there are these rectangular boxes, where there will be descriptive things happening. So, it will explain the actual situation that these people are in. So, we get across the idea, first of all, that these are speech and these are for description and we can then show them a blank one of these cartoon strips and try to elicit from our students what could possibly the people be saying and in what actual situation are they in, in order for them to say... Productive and Receptive Skills in the ESL Classroom - Speaking Skills - Study Phase
Once we're satisfied that all the students have been engaged and that they've been given the opportunity to say something, we can move on to our study phase. Here, it may be necessary or useful to actually pre-teach some gaps in knowledge that have been shown from the engage phase and those gaps in knowledge may include actual grammar structures or indeed useful vocabulary and it's very important that, before we move on to doing any forms of activity, we check their understanding of this material. So, we need to do some study exercises. It's also very useful if you leave this information up on the board through all that study period. Those study activities can just be the normal types of gap fills... [Read more]

Lesson Planning - Part 8 - Process For Study Activities
Just to finish off this particular section on lesson planning, we're going to go through a couple of procedures that should take place during the study phase periods, particularly when we're doing the activities. It is quite important that before we actually go into a study activity that we go through a process of showing how that activity is going to work and one acronym that is often used for this is D-E-GO. The D part of this stands for a demonstration of the activity. Now, it's very important that you don't try to explain how the activity is going to work but rather you actually demonstrate the process. An example of the demonstration of the process of the activity could be something as simple as taking the first... [Read more]

How much does TEFL certification cost?
As we provide a variety of different TEFL courses utilizing different study methods, there is no one price for our TEFL certification. Our range of courses includes several online options with study times of between 50 hours and 550 hours. We also have over twenty international locations offering our in-class TEFL course and a combined course that mixes both online and in-class study.
One thing to remember is to never choose a training course based on the price alone. Cheap courses may look attractive on paper, but will the content be in-depth enough to fully prepare you for a new job teaching English abroad? Also, employers generally expect a high standard of TEFL qualification from their job applicants and bargain basement courses may not be... [Read more]

Lesson Planning - Part 6 - Lesson Plan Example - Study Phase
The first part of my study phase is going to be the board work and I'm going to use the information that I generated in the elicitation part of my engage phase to move on to the actual board work. What I'm going to do is to show the structure of this particular tense. So, the phase study I'm expecting to take about ten minutes on this particular part and, again, the interaction will mainly be the students talking to me. So, how am I going to achieve that with this information? Well, we could ask the students to have a look at the sentences themselves and to tell us what they can see. If we look at each of the first words in here, then at this level, I should hopefully be able to elicit from my students what each of... [Read more]

How much does a TEFL course cost? - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT TEFL & TESOL
How much does a TEFL course cost?
As there is no standard content or fixed length required for a TEFL certification course, individual providers are free to design their own courses and set whatever fees they see fit. The best advice is not to choose a course simply because it is the cheapest one available. Yes, you can find TEFL courses on discount websites for as little US$49 but will they be accepted by employers in the region that you want to work in? And will they properly prepare you for life in a real classroom? If you want to ensure that the answer to these questions is YES then you should look a little deeper than just the price.

In-class TEFL courses usually involve 4-weeks of intensive training that comprehensively covers the most... [Read more]

The course starts with an online section that covers all the theory topics. You then attend one of our training centers to complete your observed teaching practice classes.
Is the combined TEFL course as good as the 4-week in-class TEFL course?
Yes. The combined course covers all the same content as the full in-class course. However, if you are not comfortable with the idea of distance learning or would prefer more interaction with your tutors and other trainees, then the in-class TEFL course might be the better option.
