8 Things I Wish I had Known Before I Started Teaching English Online - TEFL Blog
Karah Musani
Alumni Experiences Teaching Ideas
I started teaching online two years ago. With no training, it was a bumpy start. If there is one thing I want you to take away from this post, it's this: relax. It gets better.
1. The learning curve is STEEP. You will get better.
2. You will have bad classes. It's not always your fault.
3. They don't have to get it right away.
4. Rushing class is counterproductive.
5. Students learn more if they're having fun.
6. You can't let your students see how far they have to go.
7. Starting kids off with a win helps them be more confident in class
8. It gets better

Alumni Experiences
As an aspiring TEFL teacher, I have to be ready to teach students of all ages. While the language and lesson-planning follow frameworks that stay consistent for all students, the topics I utilize depend on who I am teaching; for example, the ESA lesson plan works for all classrooms, but different students require different engage-phase activities - a game of battleships is better suited for young learners than adults. In this report, I explore the similarities and differences between teaching young and adult learners.

Perfect English (PE) - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT
At Perfect English (PE), our motto is “Quality Education First” and its at the core of everything we do as a school. Our founders, Jack and Janet Murray, began the school in January 2002, it was because they believed English teaching in China could be improved. As an after-school program they saw a need to offer “quality” education, using native speakers, thus providing students with access to better oral English and improved language skills. Back in 2002, English after-school programs were rarely offered by native speakers, additionally in the Chinese public schools spoken English was just a minor part of what was taught. Consider the following situation: I asked the teacher if he could give me some paper. I said ?Excuse me, have you got any paper?? Unfortunately, he didn?t have any. The first statement is positive and therefore requires us to use some. The second sentence is a question and therefore, we need to use any. The third and final sentence is a negative statement which also requries us to use any. It's worth noting that we do sometimes use some in questions and we also use any in positive statements. For...
