3 Experiences Possible in the ESL Teaching Career
My teaching journey has started when I decided to study science education at university because since I was a child, I’d loved to teach and to learn, to share knowledge and to understand the world around me. There I could learn a lot about didactics, learning theories and psychology, teaching methods, and many other human sciences, in addition to several hours of internship at elementary schools and kindergarten.

How Teaching English In Brazil Inspired Me To Take My TEFL and Pursue A Teaching Career
In 2016, I was given the amazing opportunity to teach English in the beautiful country of Brazil. In my first few weeks there, I learned how to teach by observing a professional instructor at the English language school and then practicing in front of my new colleagues. These were my first steps into the world of teaching.

How I Changed Careers From Being a Nurse to Teaching English in China
I might not have realized it before since I was busy studying and just trying to achieve my short term goals but I believe that my mother has been an inspiration for me to become a teacher. I could remember seeing kids at home being taught by my mom and she used pictures to identify certain shapes and animals. My mom was a regular housewife then. She taught only for fun and to make my brother and I be more engaged in learning things with the company of our friends, our playmates.

Does TEFL get you a job?
Acquiring a TEFL certificate can be a pivotal step for those aspiring to teach English abroad. While it is not a guaranteed job ticket, in numerous countries and among many employers, a TEFL certification is the primary qualification sought. While some regions might prioritize candidates with a bachelor's degree, there is an extensive list of destinations where a TEFL certificate alone can open doors to teaching opportunities, whether you are a seasoned educator or just starting out.

Perfectly Imperfect: My Personal Teaching Experience
It is true that in life, the road to success is not a clear straight upward path; rather, it is more of an obstacle race. A teacher’s life looks simple from the outside. Why, she just wakes up early, wears her uniform, goes to school, and does what any other teacher does. It looks pretty straightforward, but my personal experience has been anything but. From a teenager unsure of her future to a high school English teacher, my work life so far has been perfectly imperfect.

How My Previous Teaching Experience Changed My Career Choice
This summative task topic personally attracted me due to my very recent experience with teaching. To begin with, I, myself is a 22-year-old fresh university graduate in Hong Kong who undertook Business Marketing. To add to that, I also planned on pursuing a career in the business industry. During my university days, I would take up different kinds of part-time jobs for two simple reasons; to make use of my skills and hobbies and earn some cash from it. These hobbies included babysitting, arts & crafts and more.

3 Key Ways to Build Your Teaching Career From Scratch
There are many fields in today’s industries that require growth and adaptation on part of the worker. Teaching is no exception. While it’s true that after a few years many teachers will recycle old lessons, the lessons need to adapt to the new classroom. Being outdated can lead students to boredom and teachers losing confidence in themselves. The question becomes not ‘why’ but ‘how’ can teachers develop their careers.

How do You Build a Successful Teaching Career?
What defines teachers’ success? There is no one thing teachers can do to be successful. Success is not defined by just one aspect. Students, the learning experience, classroom environment, the relationship between teachers and their students, assessments, and outcomes can all define the success of teachers and their teaching career. If the students have learned and can apply the lessons they have learned in class to their career, it means teachers have been effective and efficient in teaching what they wanted their students to learn.

From Tutor to Business English Teacher and Mentor: My Personal Teaching Experience
Although I have never formally been a teacher, I have had the opportunity to teach and tutor in an informal way. As an international student at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, I was not allowed to work off-campus, so in my second semester, I joined the tutoring center and began to help a variety of different students with the various subjects I had studied in previous semesters. I assisted students with retail math, writing, textile science, and a few other subjects. I did this during my second semester, and then again in my fifth semester when I returned from my exchange program in Florence, Italy.

Teaching Practice for TEFL TESOL courses
There are many benefits to taking a TEFL course in an in-class environment and the biggest is probably the real life teaching practice that makes up a large part of the 4-week schedule. Throughout the course each trainee will have many opportunities to practice the skills they have learned in the input sessions by teaching their own lessons to a group of genuine English language learners in an authentic classroom setting. What better way to prepare for the realities of teaching than having multiple practice sessions under the guidance of one of our professional teacher trainers.

How I Enhanced My Teaching Skills With a TEFL Course
The best thing I learned from the TEFL course cannot be explained in one thought or topic sentence because it was significant. However, for this essay, I will narrow it down to one concept. I am an experienced licensed teacher from the United States, but there is always more to learn. In the United States, I would have one or two students in my class each year that were not native English speakers. So, the idea of teaching a classroom of students where all the learners are not native speakers is new to me. I was unfamiliar with ESA's acronym (Engage, Study, Activate) until I took this course, and I appreciate this concept the most. ESA was the best thing I... [Read more]

It is true that following a lesson plan may make the class rigid and lack flexibility. But for some inexperienced teachers, we may get panic when there are unexpected things arising in the class. By preparing a lesson plan, firstly we will have a thorough idea about what is going to happen so we can be mentally ready to some degree. Secondly, each step from the lesson plan has it a specific reason to exist to assist an inexperienced teacher to learn about how to manage the class.
