In big cities, parents send their kids to all kinds of organizations/schools to study English in their early three years. Some capable parents even use English as their communicative language from the first day the baby was born. No matter how early Chinese starts learning English, it's still not our mother language and the atmosphere is still in Chinese, which makes learning English not as easy as those in English countries.

The student sitting in front of his teacher was upset, unwilling-- perhaps unable-- to engage in the classroom activity taking place around him. The task seemed harmless enough-- a simple game of hangman to solidify vocabulary retention-- but had left this student paralyzed. The student's teacher, my friend Tom, did not press the issue but rather waited to have a conversation with his student until after class when all of the other students had left for the day. "Teacher, my brother died. The army hangs him." Tom was devastated. In his attempt to provide a playful opportunity for learning, he had forced a student to relive a trauma that had forever altered his life. While no one could accuse Tom of being thoughtless in his activity selection, this... [Read more]

Tefl reviews - Pronunciation And Phonology/place Of Articulation Part 1 - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT
Place of articulation deals with the placement of the vocal organs when producing a sound. Before we can cover the particulars of places of articulation, we'll need to take a look at the various vocal organs and their locations. Moving from the front to the back we'd begin with our lips. We can use both lips in order to create a sound or we can use one of our lips with one of our rows of teeth, usually the top, in order to produce another sound. We also have other sounds, which use both of the rows of teeth. Further back we have what's called the alveolar ridge. That's the bit of the mouth that may get burnt when we're eating a pizza that's a bit too hot and the cheese burns just behind there our top two teeth. What are the most common cultural misunderstandings faced by TEFL teachers? - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT TEFL & TESOL

This can lead to misunderstandings in terms of participation and engagement in the classroom.
Another common cultural misunderstanding is related to body language and gestures. What may be considered as a friendly gesture in one culture could be offensive in another. I would like to start by saying that some jobs look simple and many people would deem they are easy at first sight. Alright, it is not completely true. One will never know how something tastes until tasting it his/her own. It is the same thing with the teaching task. Some people would say it is an easy peasy job; just stand right there giving instructions on the front of a couple of students. It is entirely the opposite, it is a tiring job, but the tire here is more related to one's psychology and inner side. However, it is relative for teachers depending on many standards like the age of the students, culture, or nationality.
