Tefl reviews - Theories Methods Techniques Of Teaching The Silent Way - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT
Our next methodology is called the silent way and it's accredited to Caleb Gattegno and was developed in or around the 1970s. This particular methodology moved on from the behaviorist stimulus response to what's called a theory of constructivism and this constructivist approach was very very different, very radical to anything that had been tried before. The background to this particular methodology was that there was a French mathematics teacher who found that his students were finding it very difficult to understand particular concepts. What he realized was that what they needed was a more visual representation of the information. So he came up with a series of colored rods to help with those concepts in mathematics. He gave his name to those rods and they're called Cuisenaire... [Read more]
How I Was Introduced to the World of Foreign Language Teaching - TEFL Blog
Elizaveta Pachina
Teaching Ideas
My interest in ESL began without the intention of becoming an ESL instructor in the first place. It was mostly born out of curiosity and interest in relocating to a foreign country which at the time (2009) was China. At the time I had been deeply contemplating a career living abroad. The contemplation came more from a cultural motivation than from a financial or career-minded motivation. Throughout my childhood and beyond, my parents were both avid travelers. Both my Mother and Father had spent considerable periods traveling in Asia, East Asia and Central Asia in particular.

Theories of Child Development
Child development unfolds in distinct stages, each marked by profound changes in cognition, language acquisition, and social interaction. Just as children progress through stages like sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational in their cognitive growth, so too do students learning a second language move through predictable stages of language acquisition. From preproduction to advanced fluency, these stages reflect varying degrees of language proficiency influenced by factors such as educational background and cultural exposure. There are many ways to teach students English or any other language. You can learn in an immersive environment, a formal classroom setting, or even try to learn from watching and listening to media. One common format is one to one teaching. This means there are one student and one teacher working on the curriculum together. This can be in person or on the internet, which is becoming increasingly more common. As with all things in life, there are both good and bad aspects resulting from this teaching format. Individual attention has benefits and drawbacks, as does the lack of peers.
