Yaowawit School in Phang Nga, southern Thailand, is home to more than 120 children ranging from 3 to 18 years old. Many of our children have been orphaned, neglected, abused, abandoned or trafficked. Here at Yaowawit, we have created a sanctuary for our children to learn, grow and thrive in. Not only do we provide them with a high-quality education, we provide them with a home. We do this with the aim of breaking the poverty cycle. This is a very rewarding place for TEFL trained teachers to work.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This is a challenging and very helpful unit because it deals with the nuts and bolts of sentence structure in the English language. I learned that prepositions are used in a sentence regarding place, time and movement and that I should emphasize this fact when teaching about prepositions. I also learned the difference between possessive pronouns such as his and common pronouns such as I.This unit is about teaching pronunciations and phonology. We learn about how pronunciation is integral to learning English. We learn about intonation and how the rise and fall shows that a speaker has nothing more to say. Fall and rise is an invitation for a response. we also dive into stressing syllables and where that happens in a sentence or word. We also learn about phonetic script.
