Date posted:2009-07-13 | Writer: SKILL MossorĂ³ | Email: [email protected]

We are looking for young and motivated native English speakers to work as a TEFL teacher. If you are interested, write me an e-mail and send me your Resume. Thank you!

About the city

Located in the northeast part of the country. Mossor?is a medium sized city. The closest beach is about 30 minutes from downtown, by car. There are about 250,000 inhabitants here.

About the School

We are a small and very friendly school. We have had 8 other native English teachers in the past years. They were all from the U.S., we can give you their phone numbers, so you can talk and learn a little more about the experience of coming and teaching English with us.

The school has its own material and methodology.

If you are interested, we can enroll you in a Portuguese course at the local University, without any charge.

About The Classes

We have our own material. The classes are to start in the first week of August. The classes go on for a semester. They finish in December.

What we offer you while you are here:

While you are here, you are going to live in one of the student's families. They will send you information and pictures of them and their house. They usually become very excited about the idea of having a foreign person at their homes. They will offer you room and board. You will only spend your own money with food if you, for any reason, don't eat at home.

You will work at most 25 hours a week. The school will pay you monthly an amount of U$ 400,00 (four hundred dollars), that is about R$ 800,00 (eight hundred Reais). We know that this money is not enough for anyone to live in any other country in the world, but here most of the population make R$ 465,00 a month. The prices here are very low compared with any American or European countries.

Visa and plane Tickets

We don't sponsor visa or plane tickets expenses.

We do provide all the documentation you will need to get a Cultural Visa (which is the one you will need to have this kind of job).

Contact us for any further information at the e-mail address given on the job heading.

Send me an email if you are interested in coming and teaching here.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Past tenses can be confusing and it is helpful to use key words, such as time to help differentiate between the different past tenses. As in the present tense, there are many irregular past participles which the student should be prepared to memorize. To teach the past tense, it is helpful to have interesting and fun activities that relate to every day life to help students differentiate between the tenses. The current unit has given thorough knowledge about the class management points, ranging from seating styles, to teacher position and how to create rapport in the class, how to use the eye contact/gestures to manage the students whilst keeping in mind their learning and interest in the class. In this unit its being taught how a teacher can handle problem behavior and what responses are the best to prevent it.
