Why is English Important for a Student's Future Career?
English is the second most spoken language in the world, and it is the language of International Communication. International Communication is referred to as the study of global communication or translational communication. It's the communication practice that occurs across international borders. A few examples that include international communications are media, political, social, cultural, and military concerns. Not only is it the international communication of language, but also English is a business language. To simply answer this question, I firmly believe it is important. Here are 3 reasons why English is important for a student's future career.

How Do British and American English Differ?
G.B. Shaw said, 'England and America are two countries separated by a common language.' The common language i.e. English taken by the British to America gradually evolved differently from its root language. Hence, the language spoken in Great Britain became the British English and the language spoken in the United States became American English. It wasn't just the variation in pronunciation, the vocabulary and spellings for few words also changed. To understand the differences, we should take a look at the roadmap of British and American English.

Reasons Why Student-Teacher Relationships Are Important
Learning a new language can be a daunting task. It requires a lot of studying, practicing, and participation in order to fully comprehend and be able to use a new language. That is why people who want to learn a new language prefer to take a class on it instead of trying to learn it themselves. Taking a class on the English language can help build a student's confidence and motivate them. It is especially important for an English teacher to develop a rapport with their students because English students need to feel comfortable with the person teaching them their new language skills.

Why in the World Should You Establish Rapport?
Imagine this, you walk into the classroom and your students don't know you don't know the students. You want to create an environment of safe learning, but you don't know-how. Well, one of the things you can do to create this type of environment is to establish rapport with your students. When you establish rapport with them you are creating a connection or relationship with them. When someone has rapport, they have a connection with someone else, a harmonious understanding. It could be with an individual or a group. Sometimes rapport can happen naturally but often it needs to be built up especially in the classroom. So why is it important to establish rapport? There are several... [Read more]

The Appropriacy of Punishment in Younger ESL Classes
Is it appropriate to punish younger children in an ESL classroom? No, there is no need for that. Punishment is such a strong word to use for children when trying to learn a new language. Learning a new language may be difficult for everyone. It requires patience towards the children you teach and patience towards yourself. Punish us not the word that I would use, discipline is.

The Principles of Motivating in the ESL Class
Before a student is going to succeed, they have to want to succeed. Students have to find their reason why. As an English teacher, it is important to be able to help someone discover what motivates them, and help them use it as a driving force. Students from all around the world will have different reasons for wanting to learn English. It is not a teacher's job to give students a reason, it is their job to remind them of that reason and support them throughout their English learning journey.

The Secret Strategy on ESL Learner Motivation
I feel that this is a very important topic and part of the teaching experience, one of my biggest worries is that I won't be good enough at creating a classroom where the students feel encouraged, motivated and comfortable participating, of course, there are a lot of things that go into this, such as the way you teach the material and what you choose to teach, the way you maintain discipline in the classroom, how to create good rapport with all the students in your class, how to make the class "fun" and interesting for the students without trying to be TOO fun and derail from the point of the lesson, so I worry about a lot of these issues.
