I never really though of reported versus direct speech in this manner as a native language speaker and think that it's very helpful for EFL teachers to recognize this as a part of the English language that needs to be taught with a structured form as opposed to relying on what \"sounds right\". I will definitely need to further review and study this unit to be fully acquainted with the formulas .I had a review of the past tenses and I noticed that the principles of the past tenses also apply to future tenses. Also I learned the explanation of differences structure between each tense. I believe the concept of English verb tenses is very important in establishing effective communication, I think if someone wants to maintain both ways of communication better, that is, speaking and writting.
