Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit talks about equipment and teaching aids. Some of the resources that are usually found in classrooms and study centers include boards, interactive whiteboards (IWB), overhead projectors (OHP), visual aids, worksheets and work cards, CD players, videos and DVDs, computers, online resources, etc. It is important as a teacher to know how to use different kinds of aids and equipment in order to help students more effectively. This unit talks about the characteristics which make a good teacher, as well as addresses the characteristics that make a good student. I felt I learnt how to be a better teacher; it is all about the happy-medium in which a teacher should control the classroom, but at the same time separate him or herself from the discussion. However, the teacher should always be available to assist when classroom discussion begins to flatten out.
