English in The United Kingdom and in The United States of America
When I started my ITTT classes, I wasn't totally sure of the difference between British English and American English. I knew there were accents and pronunciation differences, but it seemed like no big deal. Then I learned more about grammar, vocabulary, idioms, and spelling. When you speak to someone who has never spoken or has very little knowledge of the two, I can see how things get really confusing. British English is a bit more formal and follows the Kings English, where American English is a little bit more laid back.

Why is English spoken all over the world?
Before we talk about English as a global language, we should know what global language and how a language becomes a global language. Refers to Mastin, L., 2011, "Global language essentially refers to a language that is learned and spoken internationally and is characterized not only by the number of its native and second language speakers, but also by its geographical distribution, and its use in international organizations and diplomatic relations. " Global language is the language known and commonly used by most countries in the world when some business relationship happens between two or more than two countries, to promote the development of politics, economy, and culture. The Global Status of English in Daily Life
The steadfast force of globalization challenges the structures of local groups, nation-states, and societies. The cultural and economic connections between contrasting social groups require a mutually understood language for communication; whether through translators or an individual's knowledge. In most cases, such as the United Nations, other political entities, and corporations, a common language is determined to facilitate communication. Sumerian, Greek, and French were languages deemed as the Lingua Francas in the past. As a result, political and economic connections began to flourish across regions. In this current era, the English language is the default language for communication... [Read more]

Problems for English Learners in the United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates though being a discrete country is a league of 7 states comprising people whose first language is Arabic. UAE being a prominent Arab country in Middle East homes to a myriad of Arabs from neighboring countries. Hence, the challenges that a learner's faces are also varying depending on the nativity of the person. I firmly believe there are four basic challenges that learners face in the UAE.
Table of Contents
The primary challenge a learner faces is the cultural background that the student carries.
Also, there is a problem with comprehension.

What is The Future of Technology in The Classroom?
Twenty years ago as an elementary school principal in a large inner-city school district, the staff and I took great pride in creating what we considered to be an exemplary high-technology school. We believed that technology could serve as an excellent tool for children to develop critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills, deeper conceptual understanding, and the ability to communicate their understanding to others. This new paradigm was called inquiry-based information shifting teaching from a teacher-directed approach to a student-centered approach where the students acquired the skills necessary to access and use information. Of the many new initiatives, we started at this... [Read more]

Is the Role of the Parents Important in Education?
The following essay has the objective of explaining the role that parents perform in the education of their children and to address if it is relevant or not. We have been functioning in a society where the school is an unrelated or a faraway universe to what happens at home. Education has also adopted this faraway simulacrum of real-life development in a classroom, where topics are taught without a clear utility for daily and "real-life" use. This has created that not all parents are aware that they are innately life teachers since the moment they welcome a child in their lives. Education does not just happen in a classroom: it is a lifelong process that takes place in every... [Read more]

Why Completing a TEFL Course is the First Step Towards a Greater World
In the world we live in, being different is often deemed as bad. Where being the minority is often looked down upon. Sometimes we don't like to admit that, but it is true. What people need to realize is that we are no different from one another. Someone from rural China is just as much of a person as I am even though we live thousands of miles away. The only difference is our story. Where we came from, whom we know, what we stand for. Our story and our background are what make us all unique and special. The sad reality is that the vast majority of us will never be able to experience another persons' life. An astronomically large amount of the world's... [Read more]

Why Is Motivation in the Classroom Critical to the Outcome?
The term, "Motivation" may be defined in several ways. Let's offer as an example; in a scenario where you have a seller of a property as well as a buyer, a "motivated seller" is one that has extraneous and urgent causes, outside of the expected reasons for selling that property. The seller has, perhaps a timeline for selling that is extremely tight, or short. With the revelation of a "motivated seller" to the buyer, it may imply that the buyer may be able to offer less money or attain more personally favorable terms than he or she could have from someone not listed as "motivated." The seller has undisclosed (or perhaps disclosed) reasons for wanting to sell their... [Read more]

Why in the World Should You Establish Rapport?
Imagine this, you walk into the classroom and your students don't know you don't know the students. You want to create an environment of safe learning, but you don't know-how. Well, one of the things you can do to create this type of environment is to establish rapport with your students. When you establish rapport with them you are creating a connection or relationship with them. When someone has rapport, they have a connection with someone else, a harmonious understanding. It could be with an individual or a group. Sometimes rapport can happen naturally but often it needs to be built up especially in the classroom. So why is it important to establish rapport?
