Teachers at UCC (United Conversation Club) work with students and working adults whose first language is not English, and who live on a short-term or seeking to live on a long-term basis in the US.

Teachers must be willing to help students develop linguistic and cultural competence to participate fully in US education, work and cultural environments.

With maximum number of four students, teachers constantly encourage students to engage in a conversation and to speak as much as possible.
Assessment of students' progress is also a must.

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree from accredited university, plus a certificate in teaching English, such as TEFL or TESOL.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit was about the present tenses in English. As a native speaker, I never realized there were twelve tenses for English. There are four present tenses: simple present, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. It is strange for me to think of English in such a meta way, but it is something that I need to do so that I can better help my future students to understand as well. The unit covers conditionals and reported speech which is a very important part of grammar because it is often used in communication and many students always make mistakes while trying to report an information conveyed by another student. The unit has explained in details and provided exercises and other format through which this topic can be taught in class and how it can be easily understood by the students.
