Live in Languages Inc. is an English language school specializing in one-to-one home tutoring, and we are looking for host teachers. Students of English from abroad (serious adult learners) are totally immersed in the language as they live and study in the home of a host teacher.

REQUIREMENTS:

A host teacher needs to:

- have ESL or English teaching credentials, such as TEFL /TESOL certification (or equivalent experience)

- be able to give 15-25 lessons (50 minutes each) one-to-one instruction per week

- accommodate students, so having a pleasant guest room available is necessary - providing full board accommodation is required

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS:

Host teachers earn from $650 to $1020 per week, depending on the kind of course selected (General, Business English etc.). Host teachers work for us on a self-employed, part-time basis.

Benefits include:

- the flexibility of accepting clients from us if/when convenient (typically, for several weeks at a time)

- the cultural exchange and learning experienced when accommodating international guests

TO APPLY:

Please email your resume and provide a brief description of the guest accommodation you offer to James Willcox at the email address given on the job heading.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit, lesson plan topic was similar to a previous one I had for other certificate, but the approach or the student target is different and by consequence the lesson plan it has to be different too. The topic of authentic and non-authentic was really informative and helpful. I will have believe that any material is authentic, but in reality some materials can help more than othersManaging Class id a very important unit for me to understand in details because I've experienced naughty students in my class which were very hard to handle and i have always been unsure of what to use at certain times in managing my class. I think it is very important to know your body language while teaching because most of the times it gets way easier to explain things to students.
