Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit seven: Vocabulary, grammar and functions. How to introduce and build vocabulary and grammar while taking into account the different factors such as native language, the meaning and use, spelling and pronunciation, appropriacy, and the students level. Introducing language functions such as: inviting, refusing, agreeing or disagreeing. Examples of techniques and methods to use while teaching each subject. This lesson went over using course books in the classroom. There are advantages and disadvantages, and ultimately it seems like a balance is needed. Course books can be helpful in organizing and developing a clear plan but can be limited in the specific needs of a class. Knowing how to balance that and what to look for in a good course book, if you choose to use one, will be a very useful skill as a teacher.
