We are currently in need of Native English speakers to teach English / Science / Math to secondary school students, and more for next school year which begins in May 2006.

Applicants (US, UK, Aus, NZ, Canada) must have a bachelor's degree and/or TEFL certificate; must have had experience teaching EFL, Science, Math; must be a team player and willing to work with the rest of the teaching staff; and most importantly must be one who loves teaching and truly cares for the students' welfare.

There will be a maximum of 20 teaching hours per week. Classes will have between 25-30 students for the English Program in fully-equipped (computers, LCD projectors, DVD's, etc.) air-conditioned classrooms. Good working environment. School is only 16 Km. from downtown Bangkok.

Basic salary of 35, 000 baht; paid holidays (7-8 weeks/year); free work permit; health insurance (BUPA); accommodation assistance. Attractive bonus package.

In this unit, we learn about productive language which is either writing or speaking. Writing is arguably more difficult than is speaking. Speaking can more readily be corrected on the spot than can be writing. When writing, punctuation, spelling, and handwriting are all important. Students may be reluctant to speak for a variety of reasons and it is the teachers job to work to overcome obstacles and encourage speaking.I learned that are many different learners in a class. They are not the same level and the teacher must keep that in mind while teaching. There are specific ways to teach a one on one session. The teaching dynamic is different. I also learned that teaching for a specific need is important. It is important to do a needs analysis prior to teaching because the class will need some target objectives to meet the clients needs.
