TEFL in Alicante, Spain (2)

We are a well established, friendly, language school, with a good reputation, in the centre of Elche (Alicante). Elche is a very pleasant town to live in. It is large enough to have everything you may need but not so large as to feel stressful. The climate is ideal and it is still very Spanish.

There is a vacancy for a qualified TEFL teacher who has experience with children to begin on 15th September, 2009. We have students of all ages, from 3 year-olds to pensioners, so there is plenty of variety for our teachers.
Most of the classes are from 16.00 hours onwards but we do have some classes in the mornings as well.
Applicants must have a EU passport or permission to work in Spain.
It is essential that they enjoy teaching. We like to think that there is a relaxed, contented atmosphere at the school but there is also a serious approach to work.
Applicants should send their CV along with a recent photograph.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Teaching styles and techniques are important to managing class rooms, keeping the respect of a class is important as well as maintaining discipline. But the main reason to manage class room is to make it a good learning environment for all the students. Simple things like Eye contact are so important as a tool when used correctly. One of the things I learnt was not to yell which must be a hard skill to learn. This unit introduces best practices for teaching the receptive skills of reading and listening. It was presented in a straightforward manner and used a patchwork ESA lesson plan to demonstrate a sample lesson. The sample materials shown before the tasks were especially helpful in understanding the sample lesson. It is always helpful to see the aids and materials used by teachers for a specific lesson plan.
