English Teachers Required Starting September and October 2005

Seeking TEFL teachers available in the area of Madrid, Spain with CELTA, Trinity or equivalent qualifications. Part and full time positions available in centre or in company classes.

Fair terms and conditions: written contracts according to Spain's labour laws. (salary in the upper range for Madrid, specified teaching hours per week, paid holiday entitlement, sickness, maternity, family and compassionate leave, severance payments).

THE SCHOOL

The English Workshop (open since 1987) is a small language school in Arganda del Rey, Madrid that teaches mainly English. We aim to provide quality English Language Teaching (General English and English for Specific Purposes, usually business) to children, adolescents and adults. The English Workshop has certified its quality system (ISO 9001) in English Language Teaching in February 2001.

In-Centre we presently serve approximately 400 students (50% children, 30% adolescents, and 20% adults). Class size is limited to a maximum of 12 children, 10 adolescents or 8 adults.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

 

It sounds appropriate for the use different types of teaching materials and their advantages as well as disadvantages. The created materials are liked by students more than the course books. They are interesting and motivating. It is true that some course books are not attractive and some students may not like them. However, preparing lesson plan and its execution at this on line activity is a little difficult for learners.This unit was about how to report direct speech. The lesson also described the formulas for forming conditional sentences. There are five different ways to form conditional sentences. I found this lesson somewhat difficult to digest and could not quite retain the information. As with the majority of the English language, learning it is mainly a matter of memorization. I will continue to study the content until it sinks in.
