The first unit of the second part of the TEFL course was an overview of the grammatical parts of speech. It is an important element of teaching a foreign language as one must explain to a student making a consistent error what his mistake is and how to correct it. These are not easy concept to understand or learn as many words can take on different functions depending on the context in which the word is found.In this unit we discuss the use and importance of productive skills. We go over and discuss the objectives of speaking and writing. We talk about the difference between accuracy and fluency, what they mean and why they are both equally important. We discuss how to encourage verbal interaction and show examples of classroom activities. We discuss the different factors writing and the importance on writing skills.
