Exciting Opportunity to Teach EFL in Colombia!

Date posted:2015-03-26 | Writer: English Language Company | Email: [email protected]

The Colombian government has launched a nationwide program designed to improve levels of English for students in government schools and technical training centres. Foreign teachers will be sponsored to teach English in a range of educational establishments that serve lower and middle-income students and communities.

This is a unique opportunity for new EFL teachers to gain valuable teaching experience in a supported program, to have an amazing cultural immersion opportunity with likeminded international teachers and to shape the future of the students they teach. It is ideal for newly qualified teachers seeking their first teaching experience. You will have a thorough 2-week orientation with practical training in Bogota and then gain valuable professional development and support during the program.

There are placements in elementary schools, high schools and in adult education centres. Some teachers will be co-teaching with a Colombian counterpart, while others will teach your classes independently.

English Language Company, Sydney (ELC) has been invited to partner with a local Colombian volunteer organisation to recruit, orientate, train, place and provide support for these teachers at local Colombian schools.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit eight discusses the future tenses, of which here are seven. The first 4 future tenses mirror the same structure we have noted in previous tense studies; future simple, future perfect, future continuous, future perfect continuous. We also learned about the \"be going to\" tense, and how two of the present tenses, present simple and the present continuous can also be used as future tenses.Unit 13 goes into detail in pronunciation and phonology. Pronunciation is extremely important for all students in order to be properly understood, though phonoly can be a bit of challenging area to teah and understand. All the material was new to me so it was benefitial to go through everything and understand more about different sounds, stress in English language and especially articulation.
