EFL Teaching Position in Colombia

Date posted:2013-03-14 | Writer: Blighty Bliss British English Institute | Email: [email protected]

We're looking to expand our successful English institute here in the city of Tunja, Colombia and to do that we need you! Bearing in mind we are a British English Institute and that currently all our teachers are male, we are looking for a British female to join our team as soon as possible to give the students more variety in their classes. Experience is a plus but not necessary. You should hold at least a recent TEFL/TESOL/CELTA qualification and a desire not only to teach but also to help out with things outside the classroom to improve the institute as a whole!

We're looking for someone with enthusiasm, an open-mind when planning classes and an ability to incorporate technology into those classes. Someone who is logical enough to teach effectively, but creative enough to make the classes fun for our students! Spanish language ability is not necessary as our classes are taught entirely in English.

Please send your CV electronically, with a covering e-mail, to the address given on the job heading.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit focused on what I believe to be some of the most challenging content to master in the English language. Because of the different verb tenses, and because there are irregular forms of many verbs, it is subject matter that many students may find difficult. Because of this, teachers who instruct students on English as a second language must possess a mastery of this particular subject area.I found this to be an interesting introduction to teaching English and grasped new concepts of what it would be like to be in a teaching environment. I now feel I have gained an idea of the importance of understanding your students and their background and level of understanding, including age in order to have an idea of what it would be like to teach them and what hurdles or benefits I will face.
