EF English First Harbin was established in 2010 and currently has one centre with around 700 students. Due to our continued expansion we are looking to add a TEFL certified teacher to our team of 10 foreign teachers. Our centre caters mainly to Young Learners but also has some adult classes and one to one tutoring. Applicants should be comfortable teaching all ages and levels.

Situated in north eastern China, Harbin is close to Russia, Korea and Inner Mongolia and is an ideal place to be based to explore this fascinating part of the world. Harbin itself has a lot to offer, not least the beautiful Russian architectural influence that adds to the attraction of the city. Harbin is developing very quickly, but there are still many places to go which are irresistibly Chinese.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit is about teaching receptive skills. There are two receptive skills. Both are equally important. Reading and Listening. This unit explains how we read and listen. Breaking it down in several purposes. Predictive, specific, general etc etc. It gives some tools and examples from a Patchwork lesson how to implement these skills in the classroom. The given examples are very nice and clear. In this unit I learned the correct way to teach students direct speech. This is very useful as direct speech is often used in day to day conversations. I also learned how to correctly identify different conditionals. While they may be confusing to new English speakers, I will be able to fully explain the differences between each, and give different examples, due to the information in this unit.
