TEACHING POSITION IN BRAZIL

The school teaches English, Spanish, French, German and Chinese. Right now there are 7 foreign and 6 Brazilian teachers working with 250+ students.
The student's age range from 12 to 40. (most of them are university students)
The position available is to teach 36 hours (or more if you wish) per week from Monday to Friday. Most classes are in the evening, from 6pm to 10:30pm. Each class lasts one hour and has an average of 8 students.
The wage is R$12, 00 (twelve Reais) per hour for teaching group class. (US$ 1 = R$ 2.16) and R$10, 00 (ten Reais) per hour for private students.
The teacher will be paid by the end of every month.
A furnished studio (plus utilities and internet) will be provided for the time of the contract. The teacher would only be responsible for telefone rent and bills. A housekeeper will come once a week and laundry twice a month is also free.
The school is looking for an young(21 to 30) enthusiastic and energetic professional, with ESL (or similar) certificate who is willing to work hard (one year contract). Experience is not necessary.
There is an one-week break in May and October and a 3-week break in July.
The foreign English teacher is responsible for all advanced classes and advanced private students. The school will be using Touchstone 4 (Cambridge Press) for Advanced I classes and Contemporary Topics 3 (Longman Press) for Advanced II. In case there are more advanced students handouts or Communicating in Business (Cambridge Press) will be used. There are few private students who will be talking prep course for TOEFL.
The students are young and demanding, however they do not attend class regularly. There are a lot of Language Schools in town, but Speaking is the only one to have foreign teachers and teach most conversation. The competition is hard and for 2007 we need a strong team.
Itajuba is a university town located in Minas Gerais State, four hours from Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.
