  • Procedure: Introduce yourself to the class and ask each student's name and its spelling. Divide the students into pairs and get them to introduce themselves to each other: my name is…! What's your name?! How do you spell it?

Study Stage

  • Timing: 10 mins Interaction: T-S
  • Procedure:Show flashcards of numbers 0-10 to the students and make them repeat after you. Drill pronunciation, with attention to /v/ sound in "five" and "seven".
  • Timing: 1 mins Interaction: T-S
  • Procedure: Divide the students into two teams and distribute flashcards randomly between teams so that one team has five cards and the other has six.
  • Timing: 8 mins Interaction: S-S
  • Procedure: In turn, members from each team show a flashcard to the other team members and they should say the number as fast as they can.
  • Timing: 2 mins Interaction: T-S
  • Procedure: feedback from the above activity

Activate Stage

  • Timing: 12 mins Interaction: T-S
  • Procedure:Draw a 3x3 grid on the board. Write numbers randomly in the grid. Ask one student to come to the board and say a number and make the student mark it. Repeat with the next two numbers to form Bingo, and then say BINGO! Read and point the three numbers. Give Bingo sheets to the students and ask them to fill in the sheets using numbers randomly from 1-10 only once. Show them how to form Bingo vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. Call out different numbers. When a student has Bingo, he or she says BINGO! and reads the three numbers aloud to be checked by the teacher.

  • Procedure: Show the students a flashcard of phone number and elicit the phone number by gesturing to each digit. Repeat for all cards.

Study Stage

  • Timing: 10 mins Interaction: T-S
  • Procedure: Hold your phone and write on the board: what's your phone number? Show them another card, ask them the question again and elicit: my phone numbers are… and write a response on the board. Continue with other students and flashcards of a phone number.
  • Timing: 1 mins Interaction: T-S
  • Procedure: Divide the class into two teams. Give flashcards to one team.
  • Timing: 12 mins Interaction: S-S
  • Procedure: Ask one team member to come to the board one by one and ask the opposite team member what their phone number is and write it on the board. Change team A and B place and repeat the activity.
  • Timing: 2 mins Interaction: T-S
  • Procedure: feedback from the above activity

  • Timing: 12 mins Interaction: S-S
  • Procedure: Distribute flashcards of a phone number between the students and ask them to walk around and ask each other for their names, spelling and their phone numbers.
