What does TEFL mean? What does TESOL mean?

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

In unit 9 I learned about lesson planning. I found this lesson interesting because it showed that theories regarding lesson planning are very open and wide in use and application. For me, I feel that having a smooth flowing lesson plan is best because it will help me to achieve the desired learning objectives. Like with hiking, it helps to have a map to lead you where you want to go.This has proved to be a very interesting unit. I have learnt a lot about language teaching methodologies and also about the different ways in which lessons can be staged & the appropriate relevant activities for each stage. Also found out about correction techniques & three was a useful chart which showed the different letters that could be used to signify a particular correction.
