TEFL TESOL Courses - Who takes these courses?

The trainees who complete an ITTT course come from a wide variety of backgrounds, age groups and countries. Ages range from 18 to people in their sixties and occasionally even older. Some have come straight from school, college or university. Others can be teachers who want to update their teaching credentials and then there are people from other professional and non professional backgrounds. We accept trainees who are native English speakers as well as fluent non native English speakers. We do not require trainees to have any previous teacher training experience. Our courses will provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to begin your career as a qualified English language teacher.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

Unit 7 has gone over how to teach vocabulary, grammar and functions. It goes over how to select vocabulary and teach it through the different phases in an ESA lesson. Unit 7 has also covered grammatical structures and what thing can be done in the different phases of an ESA lesson, the same goes for language functions and what they are such as agreeing, inviting and disagreeing etc. This unit covered managing classes. Many factors should be taken into consideration such as class size, talk time for teachers and students, teacher gestures, eye contact and voice, discipline, student groupings and seating arrangements. Overall, think about establishing rapport and making a learning nag environment where the students feel comfortable with learning and with speaking.
