Are there any age limits for TEFL teaching?

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This lesson touched on the difference between mistakes and errors. There is a balance between correcting the students and praising the work that they have done that is correct. Positive feedback is important in any new thing that you are learning, so it makes a lot of sense that positive feedback would be critical to helping students intrinsically understand the English language.I liked the pointers on how to encourage reluctant students and how to encourage all students to use English rather than their native language. It is good to consider the challenges between students being at different levels and also different class sizes. I like the ideas about how to build rapport in the first session whilst still doing some informal assessment of the students.
