There is one question that often arises: is acquiring a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate necessary for online teaching. In this text, I argue that while a TEFL certificate is not mandatory for all online teachers, it is highly recommended for inexperienced teachers and amateurs who wish to embark on an online teaching career. The certificate provides essential pedagogical knowledge and boosts credibility, making it particularly beneficial for those lacking prior teaching experience or a pedagogical background. Now let's go through the most important aspects of acquiring a TEFL certificate and decide whether each teacher needs it or not.

Elizaveta Pachina

According to the website "Master in special education degree program guide," the most common learning disorder is Dyslexia. The condition affects 10% of the global population, which translates to roughly 2 to 3 children in every class. Many types of dyslexia can interfere with different basic learning skills, such as reading, memorizing, learning a foreign language and some may also have trouble understanding jokes or expressions. Depending on the person, the impact on skills will be different. The psychological explanations for Dyslexia involve the cognitive understanding of short- and long- term memory, which suggests the idea that people with Dyslexia have a shorter phonological loop span than non-Dyslexic individuals.

Nobody doubts that motivated students learn better and assimilate taught contents more easily than non-motivated ones but keeping students motivated and engaged during class is one of the teachers' biggest challenges. Playing games in class, though, seems to be of great help when it comes to engaging, reinforce materials and retain the attention of students. Another positive point is that games can be used at any moment in the teaching process by any level. The usages are diverse varying from teaching to getting feedback, not to mention that having students playing games reduces drastically Teacher's Talking Time turning classes more student-centered.

4 Reasons Why You Should Complete a TEFL Course - TEFL Blog

I chose to take a TEFL course to make me more professional. I am an English teacher and I teach young kids from the age of 4 to 12 in China. I have been teaching kids for around 7 years. I was teaching kids from Grade 1 to Grade 5 in a public primary school in China. Now I teach young kids in a language training center. Teaching in a Chinese public school is totally different to teaching in a private training center. In a public school, what the teacher does everyday is giving the questionnaire to the students and have them complete as many questionnaires as possible. The goal is for students to remember the grammar rules and know how to give correct answers so that they can do well in their tests. So in a public school all the exercises we do are for one...
