The Challenging Way of a Teacher to Create Confident Students
Confidence is a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective. Confidence comes from a Latin word fidere' which means "to trust"; therefore, having self-confidence is having trust in one's self.; for students who have English as their second language, the confidence in speaking in English is mostly low as they do not practice the language often enough and they worry about being wrong so they'd choose not to talk at all. As a Filipino, schools in the Philippines use English as our medium of teaching. Therefore, most of the Filipinos do know the right structure of grammar, vocabulary... [Read more]

Problems for Learners in France and How to Overcome Them
Being an American living in France has given me firsthand experience as to what it is like to struggle with learning a new language. I studied Spanish for six years, in Junior High and High school. Language acquisition was easier then. I can attest to the fact that younger learners learn more quickly. For me, the two major problems with learning French are the tenses and not being able to understand what people are saying. I get stuck in the present tense, often forgetting to change tenses in conversation. I also need to hone up on my listening skills.

What Outdoor Activities Can Help When Teaching English
While it is true that many students crave consistency in the classroom, it can also be argued that students of all ages and levels tend to lose motivation and interest if lessons become too predictable or repetitive. For this reason, many teachers choose to incorporate outdoor activities into their lessons. In addition to maintaining interest, some possible benefits to taking your students outside the classroom (especially in an English-speaking country) include opportunities to interact with locals, experience culture, and practice in "real life" scenarios, all of which can help build students' confidence. Even if students are learning English in their home countries, there are... [Read more]

The Methods of Developing Speaking Skills in Kindergarten Level Children
Kindergarten students are those who are typically around the age of five. From birth till five, they would have developed their sensory and speaking abilities in their mother tongue with decent fluency. Children at this age have a strong potential to gain a lot of information. They would know about 1000-2000 words by this time. At this age, they are formally introduced to reading and writing skills, group work, independent thinking, and sharing practice. Teaching children at this age can be quite challenging and fun. Why Classroom Games are Essential for Building Confidence in English Language Students
In my years of teaching English to students aged 4 to 14, I have found that nothing brings a child more confidence than being able to do something they previously thought impossible or too challenging. Speaking in front of an entire class, having to memorize speeches or dialogues, and being put on the spot in general can all pose a huge challenge for students and can often end in hurt pride and a lowering of confidence. I have seen students hang their heads in shame as they return to their seats after giving an almost perfect speech, hyper fixating on one single mistake that elicited a laugh or two from their audience. While serious... [Read more]

Is Teaching One-to-One the Most Effective Way?
Why one-on-one teaching English becomes a trend? Because it is the best way to learn the language! There are many reasons why: it is convenient to both teacher and student in terms of time and location; student progress and development is not in rush - its juts in a perfect pace; the lessons are calibrated base on student's needs; the teacher is solely focused on one student, and the teacher can be freely creative with the tasks and activities that the student will enjoy.
