Stories for ESL Students of Different Age Groups
Stories expose the students to more language, they engage and motivate the learner, they can be used to teach the structure of a language and the concepts about print which may be different between cultures. Stories with images can also help the students anchor their knowledge about the text. Listening to stories also helps the students hear accents and how words are pronounced. However, it is important to choose the correct book or story for the students you are working with. If familiar storylines are chosen the student is more likely to understand the story. It is also important to take into consideration the interests of the students and to find text on those topics.

4 Main Problems of Building Reading Habits in EFL Students
Even in the first language, it can be difficult to get children reading. There are many reasons they may turn their nose up at a book. In some way, I think most of those reasons can be boiled down to boredom.

Common Challenges
1. First, it's still, quiet activity.
2. Second, for very young children, the act of reading itself can present a challenge, and the content of the book must be worth the effort they made to understand the words.
3. Third, children must be presented with a variety of book topics.
4. Lastly, reading should not be used as a punishment if you can help it.

The Difference Between Business English and General English For EFL Teachers
The term business English is used to cover the English language taught to a wide range of professional people, and students in full-time education preparing for a business career. Parent Influence on Child Education
Parents are the first teachers a child interacts with, from age zero to around three or four years when the child is exposed to early childhood education at schools. The parent role at this point is very critical for educating the child in; the culture of the society, religion of the family, the first language of the family and educational mentors among the family. Infants at this age are normally very keen on the happenings on the surrounding, and so they tend to model the behavior of the parents or the caregivers. Parents can help the infants feel secure and protected by playing with them. Infants can learn to build social connections when the parents let them be held by other people when... [Read more]

Most of us take being able to read for granted. We seldom give a thought to how the process of learning to read began in our lives. I am sure most of us will not even recall the age we began to read. For many learners experiencing some form of learning difficulty, this may seem like a mountain with no peak. I am writing this essay based on my experience of having worked with learners ranging from those with various learning challenges to those with extreme learning disabilities. One thing I have learned over the years is that giving up on a child is never an option. One is forced to think creatively and innovatively to address the challenge.

Engaging Language Acquisition: The Importance of Reading for Pleasure
Fears of declining reading rates have long plagued the United States. In 2007, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) released To Read or Not To Read: A Question of National Consequence, a report showing that reading rates for all demographic factors had declined. The report shed light on the potentially devastating effects that such a decline may have: this was not about mourning the loss of book sales, but about reading's impact on citizens' abilities to comprehend written material, improve their socioeconomic standing, and maintain a successful career.
