Job Teaching TEFL in Vietnam

Date posted:2008-09-02 | Writer: Vietnamese American Training College | Email: [email protected]

We are an established campus associated with VATC, the largest ELT institution in Vietnam, with about 600 students at our facility, in classes of 10-20 students. We start our native speaking teachers of English at US$15/hr. Teachers are guaranteed a 20-hour/week workload. The contract includes US$1,000 annual bonus (preferred) or a US$500 semi-annual bonus. Bien Hoa is a city of almost 1 million people, 45 minutes from Ho Chi Minh City. It is more pleasant, with less traffic, better air and sound quality, etc... The cost of living in this area is 3 times cheaper than that of the US; a 1-bedroom apartment/house runs about 200 USD/mo., health insurance runs about 150 USD/year. The official visa renewal fee is 10 USD/6 months (though going through a service agency will bring it to 50-75 USDs).

To apply contact the email address given on the job heading page.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

I liked this unit as it distinguishes the advantages and disadvantages of teaching adults compared to children. It also documents the possible pitfalls when teaching adults and the possible solutions to overcome them. In addition to this the numerous teaching methodologies was interesting and enlightening as it gave me an understanding of the various methods and the best one to use depending on the situation. The content of this Unit covers teaching of special groups, as children, business people, beginners and individual students. The various challenges this present are discussed, and a number of possible solutions are presented. The unit contains a vast amount of suggestions of suitable activities and strategies. I feel I've learned quite a bit about the possible strategies I can use when teaching special groups
