Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit discussed course materials that a teacher can/may have to use in a class, primarily coursebooks. The unit discussed the advantages and disadvantages of using a coursebook, how a teacher can select a book, and how a teacher can adapt a book or supplement it to fit the needs of their students. In this unit I learned about when it is appropriate to use created materials and authentic materials. This unit covers the two productive language skills, speaking and writing. I learned about how to design creative speaking and writing activities in order to ensure students are comfortable with the language for the topic. The importance of accuracy and fluency was highlighted, and I learned how to focus different parts of the lesson on each, in order to ensure that both are developed in the students.
