Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit 15 talks about the various methods of measuring language level, comprehension, retention, ability, et cetera. It also discusses how and when to use different types of tests. Some tests, such as diagnostic and placement tests, are only used a preliminary measurement prior to or at the beginning of a course, to determine your ability. Progress tests, however, should be used throughout the course, to see how students are learning. An interesting unit on some of the most trickiest subjects in the English grammar such as modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. The chart that described the meaning and usages of the modal verbs is very useful. I liked that the unit also provided some teaching ideas on how to explain and practice modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Would have been nice to see an example of an ESA lesson dedicated to this part of the grammar.
