Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

There are four things students need to with a new language, exposure to it, understanding the meaning, understand how it is constructed, and to practice and produce it. Grammar is the base a a language while vocabulary adds the color. Students need to be taught the new language in a balanced and manageable way. Using the ESA methods can easily be applied to effectively teach the new language to students. In this Unit, we have covered Active and Passive voice, modals and phrasal verbs. A modal verb is used to express ideas such as possibility, probability, obligation, request, permission, ability, advice and etc. In Passive sentence an object of the active verb becomes the subject of a passive verb. We need to be careful here to not leave 'to be' out of the sentence, it is one of the most common mistakes.
