Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Reading and writing are skills that must be taught from the very early stages of any language learning so that it goes hand in hand with speaking and listening comprehension. At times, they are let behind due to poor planning, which in the long run hurts more than what it helps. I think that with proper planning, both skills can be taught in a way that the students find it motivating and fun.Unit 11 goes over how to handle the first day for a class. Teachers should avoid using the text and heavy topics on the first day. Instead, teacher should use warmers or ice breakers to energize the students. Whether or not the class is used to the EFL teaching style and comfortable with each other, the first day should be used to building rapport with the teacher and motivating the students.
