TEFL in Ufa, Russia

Due to a timewaster, we have a very urgent need to fill the post below. Please only apply if you are available immeadiately and satisfy the criteria.

We are a well-established private language school in Ufa and seek to recruit a suitable teacher as soon as possible in order to satisfy increased student numbers. Ufa is the capital city of the Republic of Bashkortostan and combines modern city life, easy access to spectacular natural beauty and a low cost of living.

Our students are a mixture of professional people and students; all of whom are carefully selected and eager to improve their English. Teaching is on an individual and a small-class basis and you will be expected to teach around 25 hours per week from elementary to upper-intermediate level.

The preference here is for British English although other native speakers will naturally be most welcome. As we are a small school, some resilience and determination is expected although this is balanced by increased autonomy and flexibility.

A teaching qualification at CELTA level (or equivalent) is essential for this post. We would prefer a minimum of 6 months experience but newly qualified applicants with good academics and references will be actively considered. The ability to take IELTS/TOEFL and/or business classes is very desirable.

Based on a 9 month contract, we offer a comfortable salary of up to US$550 net per month (with the opportunity for overtime payments) depending on experience, emergency medical care, travel expenses within the city, fully expensed single accommodation (except for telephone costs), standard visa (multiple-entry) support and refund of airfare (US$600 from N.America/the far east, US$200 from Europe) payable at 50% after 6 months employment and 50% on completion of contract.

Please send a covering letter, cv and recent photograph to: [email protected]

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Before you can become a good teacher you must have the willingness to teach, a good teacher must have patients and must be kind. A good teacher must have knowledge of the subject. He must go to class untime. The students must also have the willingness to study and must ask teachers question when unsure. Students lose respect for teachers when they are Always late for class , and don't prepare theirselves be coming to class. This unit has shown how to troubleshoot potential problems and the common reasons for the problems, it has also prepared me to get ready for my first class and what i will need to do to build a rapport with the students. It has also gave me ideas of how having different level of students or large class sizes can be dealt with. It has also made me aware of why it is important not to use the native language even if i know it.
