Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit has taught me the basic procedure of teaching receptive skills like listening and reading. It is important to catch the interest of the students in order for the lesson to truly be effective. Pre-teaching unknown vocabulary to the students before they start reading or listening to a text, will greatly increase the learning atmosphere and the motivational level of each student.Reading and listening are two receptive skills and they are as important as the productive ones (writing and speaking). During a lesson, the teacher has to think about the type of text (or audio) to be given to the students: they have to be selected, based on the interests of the students, so topics are important (the more they are interesting, the more students will be involved in the lesson).
