Waikato Institute of Education has provided English Courses in New Zealand for several years. Beautifully situated in Hamilton, one of New Zealand's fastest growing cities, with a population of 130,000, it provides the perfect environment for teaching and leisure. We are always interested in receiving enquiries from applicants for our TEFL teaching and support service positions. You can also register your interest for future positions and don't have to wait for a specific job to be advertised. You can apply any time for any vacancy, from any location in New Zealand or overseas.  Just send a covering letter and your curriculum vitae to the e-mail address given on the job heading page or post to Administration Manager, Waikato Institute of Education, PO Box 773, Hamilton, New Zealand.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Assessments come in a variety of forms and are used for several reasons. Notably, assessments are generally used for informing students and teachers how much is being processed by the student and what, if anything, needs to be altered by the teacher's approach to the curriculum. While assessments can be paper and pencil, it is also important to realize that formative assessments can also help monitor progress. This unit gave several ideas on how to help students understand tenses. It is a difficult challenge to help someone understand the proper use of the tenses. The activities suggested in this unit should greatly help the students to practice the tenses while allowing them to have some fun as well. I especially liked the activity where the students change things in the room and one student has to guess the changes.
