Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit I learned about pronunciation in the English language. It was interesting to break down sentences and words to see intonation and stress. A rise/fall indicates statements and a fall/rise expects a response. I hardly noticed these functions while speaking as it seems to be mostly unconscious. I also learned about linking and extra letter to make sentences sound more natural in the English language.I think this unit provides a very insightful view on the use of textbooks. It is true that having a textbook is much easier and less time consuming for teachers. Finding the right textbook may be difficult and often times a combination of snippets from different textbooks is needed to serve the needs of each student. This unit has gotten me to think and look for different textbooks for different levels of students
