TEFL Opportunity in Bolivia

Date posted:2018-04-16 | Writer: Santa Cruz Cooperative School | Email: szapata@sccs.edu.bo

Founded in 1959, the Santa Cruz Cooperative School (SCCS) was originally established to serve the children of the Gulf Oil Company personnel. In 1970, SCCS became the cooperative it is today. Since then, providing students with the best resources possible in material and infrastructure has been a constant goal for SCCS. As an American Overseas School (AOS), SCCS recognizes the importance of an American presence within the school. With this goal in mind, SCCS recruits experienced, licensed English-speaking teachers to create a high-quality learning environment, with occasional opportunities for TEFL qualified teachers. Over 70 percent of the teaching staff at SCCS is from the United States. SCCS staff also includes teachers from places like Argentina, Bolivia, and Canada.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit helped drill home the principles of the past tenses. I've found that teaching the various tenses is one of the most difficult parts of teaching English as a foreign language. This unit supplied me with some great classroom activity ideas for practicing the tenses. Playing detective games and keeping a daily diary or journal are excellent devices for activate stage teaching.I would like to say thank you for this Unit. I think that all information here is very usefull and nessesary for teachers. After reading, I understood all basic information about this work and what kind of behaviour students can have during the class. Also, this Unit gave me an understanding of how to be a good teacher and improve my professional skills, and knowleges of my students.
