Southern Cross British Language Centre seeks native English speakers with recognised teaching qualification (such as TEFL, TESOL or equivalent) and ideally some teaching experience. We particularly welcome applications from enthusiastic and dynamic teachers who will enjoy experiencing life in a beautiful, tropical, Latin American country.
Teachers receive between US$1000 and $1200 per month (depending on qualifications, experience and performance)and in return are expected to teach 25 hours a week (110 a month max). We also provide medical insurance and a long-term visa. Teachers also get about three weeks paid leave every year.

Southern Cross is a small friendly language centre with delightful students of all ages and levels. Classes are small (max 10) and the teacher´s room is large and well resourced in order to encourage teachers to produce creative and enjoyable classes.

To apply, please contact John Warren at the e-mail address given on the job heading.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit is extremely useful, we might have different audience when teaching English. In my case, I will be teaching monolingual students (Chinese in China) so it's important to look out for things and methods that I should be focusing on. Also the section on teaching children is wonderful too, very likely I will be teaching kindergarten student, fun, various top topics to keen them focused is the key.In this unit, we covered the different types of conditional sentences and when to use them. I learnt that there are 5 different types ranging from zero (which is used for actions and facts that are irrefutable) to the mixed conditional (which is a mix between types two and three). I also learnt about reported speech and how to correctly change verb tenses when reporting on things that other people said.
