Teach EFL in Korea (4)

Date posted:2009-05-27 | Writer: The London School of English | Email: [email protected]

The London School of English (LSE) Daegu is a franchise branch of the world’s longest established accredited language school. During our first three and a half years in Daegu, we have worked hard to establish our reputation as a quality language school, employing only qualified (TEFL or equivalent) and experienced teaching staff who put the needs of their students first at all times.

Besides teaching General English to adults, we offer the opportunity for teachers to broaden their range of teaching experience by training them to teach Business English, IELTS, Writing and Specialist Discussion Courses.
Please note, we do not teach children.

We want to treat our teachers well and in return we are looking for teachers who will give real commitment to their students and their work. We regret that we may not be able to respond to applicants who do not hold at least a TEFL/CELTA/Trinity Cert TESOL or equivalent qualification.

Key features of the job are:

Ć Single furnished accommodation
Ć Salary starting from 2.2 million won monthly (up to 2.5 million won dependent on experience/qualifications)
Ć If no housing required, salary range 2.5-2.8 million won
Ć One-month salary bonus (severance) on completion of 12 month contract
Ć Airfare to and from Korea (on completion of 12 month contract)
Ć Seasonal / weekend optional overtime available(boost earnings to +3.0 million per month)
Ć Health Insurance (50% contribution)
Ć Korean National Pension contributions
Ć Paid orientation period
Ć 10 days paid holiday plus Korean national holidays
Ć We teach adult students only - no children.
Ć 120 x 50 minute lessons monthly
Ć Top quality academic support
Ć Strong emphasis on teacher development

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Very interesting unit giving a general view of the market environment for business English. Also i had to get the different things to take into consideration before applying for a job aboard. The different websites are very important and also the sample CV and cover letters. In general the unit was very interesting pointing out the cultural differences and also the ways one can easily adapt to these situations. This lesson gave me a well needed refresher on future tenses and has helped me link what I know about past and present tenses to what I know about the future tense, I think that learning about grammar in this way is beneficial to everyone because it is easier to make the connections between the different tenses. Essentially, each grammatical tense has the same four subtenses which makes it easier to remember.
