Job Requirements:

-Applicant would ideally already be located in Japan, though this is not absolutely necessary.
-Applicant MUST have experience teaching English as a Foreign Language at a private language school. Assistant English Teacher (AET) experience alone is not suitable for this job.
-Applicant MUST have a proper university diploma (original needed) so that we may sponsor a working visa.
-Applicant SHOULD have a TEFL certificate (Cambridge RSA/CELTA or similar) Applicant with SOLID experience teaching TEFL overseas may be considered even if they do not have a TEFL certificate.
-Applicant should have a genuine enjoyment of teaching and a positive attitude. We enjoy a happy working environment and we would like to keep it that way.
-Applicant does not need to know Japanese, but it is to his/her benefit to learn it.
-Applicant MUST have a driver`s license; as they will need to travel to a company class (10 minute drive) twice a week.
-Applicant does not need to wear a suit everyday to work. (However one suit is necessary to have on hand for special occasions.) IT IS EXPECTED, however, that the applicant dress tidily. Good-looking cotton trousers, khakis, or jeans and nice shirts acceptable; torn, faded, shabby and /or sexually revealing clothing is obviously not acceptable.
-Applicant must have a hospitable attitude. In the countryside many students come not just to learn English but also to get the chance to spend some time with a foreigner and to learn about their culture. Sometimes this is even more important than learning the language (to them).
-Applicant will be expected to follow the general syllabus of the school; however, other activities and games are up to the teacher`s own creativity as long as they are appropriate activities. This is an excellent chance for someone who does not fit the mold of the strict syllabi of chain English schools-- a great place for a creative and flexible person.
-Applicant will undergo a 2 week training and observation period until they settle into their new position.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Conditional sentences contain the if/when expressions and refer to past and future possibilities. There are five main conditionals , zero, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional and mixed conditional. Various teaching ideas for the students to understand the conditionals are split sentences, sentence completing of conditionals, chain conditionals, questions, nuclear bunker role play, and what would happen if.Teaching grammar effectively is quite complicated matter. Each class is going to have different grammar needs and goals and it is up to the teacher to determine these goals and provide the means with which to meet them. How do we as ESL teachers teach them essential grammar and give them what we need, rather than boring them to death with “the rules”. I think teaching grammar in context in fun way would be an answer.
