Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.
Unit 20 covers troubleshooting. It helps us to pinpoint any future problems by establishing a proper start to any course or class. This unit concentrates on building rapport with students and how to begin a class or course i.e. which ways would be best to get to know our learners and introduce them to new content and different learning styles. It also covers how to manage a large class and how to deal with disruptive learners.This was the last unit of the course. The idea of troubleshooting is to anticipate problems and prepare solutions ahead of time. This was a short unit, but it covered many general problems a teacher may face. The unit suggested solutions to motivate students, to start a new course, and to teach a class with students at different levels. The solutions were clearly explained and there were multiple suggestions for each problem.
