Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit tries to teach the importance of pronunciation. It talks about the differences between intonation and stress. Intonation is the overall tone of the entire sentence. stress referee to individual words and the parts of the word is emphasized. It shows how different sounds are formed correctly and produced. The phonemic alphabet does not make any sense and I have no idea what that is supposed to accomplish. This chapter is an excellent reminder of grammar and why we use words the way we do. It helped me realize that even if we speak out of habit, sentence construction is not something that comes naturally and getting word order correct might be quite difficult to foreign language learners. It also helped me to focus so that I will be able to answer the \"why\" questions of students when grammar comes into question.
