We are currently seeking General EFL teachers and a TOEFL teacher to start work in October 2009. We are a small friendly school which has always encouraged professional development among our teachers while delivering the highest educational standards within the classroom. A number of our new teachers have been promoted within the school; others have gone on to take on management positions in sister schools.

REQUIREMENTS:

• To be a native born passport holder from the UK, Canada, the US, Australia or New Zealand.

• A recognized ESL certificate, such as TEFL or TESOL.

• Be over 24 years of age

• To have experience as an English teacher

• To be a team player

SALARY & BENEFITS

The base salary for a new teacher is Rp 4,000,000 after a three month probationary period for which you will be paid Rp. 3.600.000. (Base salary for for TOEFL/IELTS teachers Rp. 4,500,000) both of which are more than enough to live comfortably in Yogyakarta. Also, you will be eligible for pay increases throughout the year. Added to this a one month bonus will be paid at the end of the year upon successful completion of your contract.

ACCOMODATION:

We will provide accommodation for two weeks and help you to find permanent accommodation during that time.

HOLIDAYS:

We offer roughly 20 holidays per contract.

WORKING HOURS:

Five days from Monday to Sunday from 1 – 9 pm with a maximum of 3 or 4 classes per day. We have students aged between 2 years and 60 years- so there’s a class for everyone here!

AIRFARE EXPENSES:

Real English supply an Rp. 8 million reimbursement package for airfares.

SICKNESS BENEFITS:

Real English will provide you with Comprehensive hospital insurance and reimbursements for doctors visits.

VISA AND IMMIGRATION:

Real English will pay for and process your visa and work permits.

REAL English is located in Yogyakarta and Magelang , Central Java, which is the major student city and cultural/ artistic hub of Java.

Most of the teachers here have been in Yogyakarta for several years simply because it is such a great place to live and work. It offers the attractions of a vibrant big city but with one of the lowest living costs in Asia. And without the big city traffic jams, floods and crime, Yogyakarta provides a safe environment for all.

Real English was opened in January 2004 as an all native speaker English school in Yogyakarta. In late 2004 a new branch was opened in Batam Island and we have just opened a second Yogyakarta school. There are also plans for a new branches in Surakarta and Klaten offering opportunities for career development within our academic department.

Real English was created by teachers who had worked at a franchise school and not enjoyed the aim of just making money for the business. We promote a family environment and are always involved within the community around us by supporting local events or handing out scholarships.

Since opening, every effort has been made at REAL to ensure that our students and staff feel motivated and part of a team. We aim to provide quality service, outstanding materials and facilities. We also aim to make English more available to a wider spectrum of students from different socio- economic backgrounds.

We are also the only official Cambridge ESOL testing sub centre and were the first online TOEFL (IBT) testing centre in Yogyakarta. We received permission from Cambridge to carry out the Cambridge exams in the year the school opened and received accreditation to administer the TOEFL exam the following year.

At the moment we have around 300 students with a third being private students preparing for overseas study such as in IELTS or TOEFL prep classes or businesses. We also have contracts to teach international classes in private schools and Universities. The other two thirds of the student body take part in General English classes, Conversation classes, Kids & Teens classes, and Play Group. We also periodically offer short specialty courses such as Presentation Preparation, Academic Writing or Job Skills courses.
