Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit covered many different areas of managing a class. It focused on gestures, eye contact, developing rapport. One area of particular interest is managing teacher talk time versus student talk time. Its important to not only teach to the learners but to have them actively contribute and feel comfortable doing so. Classroom set up is also a key factor in building rapport and ensuring comfort. This chapter describes how to teach vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions. It outlines the factors that determine what is taught in class. With all of the factors involved it can be difficult to decide what is most appropriate to teach to a certain group of students. Apart from this, the chapter reinforces the ESA structure and suggests activities for each of the three categories.
