Date posted:2018-03-21 | Writer: ELACP | Email: [email protected]

ELACP English Language and Culture Programme are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and creative English language teachers for our English summer camps in July and August of this year. There are places available both in our Bulgarian and Turkish camps. The Bulgaria camp is in Kranevo, Varna, just a few minutes’ walk from a sandy beach. The Turkey camp is located in the Beykoz forest on the outskirts of Istanbul, not too far from the coast. Or, you can get the best of both worlds and teach for two weeks in each camp. Turkey is just one hour by air from Bulgaria.

This assignment is ideal as a working holiday for experienced TEFL teachers. It is also a great opportunity for people who are interested in working with children for a future career. It might also be perfect for newly qualified EFL teachers to gain experience. All teaching materials are provided and induction is given at the centre. Your task will be to teach English to international students, to develop their reading, writing, understanding and speaking skills.

The students are aged between 7 and 17, from beginner to advanced level. There is also a small adult class for group leaders and parents. A big part of the programme is the drama workshop where the students learn and practise an English classic and put on a performance at the end of each session. That includes costumes, singing and dancing. This is really great fun, and both children and parents look forward to the final performance.

A typical day consists of English lessons and drama workshop in the morning and early afternoon, then fun activities and excursions in the afternoon, and evening animation.

BENEFITS:

The basic pay is 12 Bgn per hour. In addition, accommodation and meals are provided free of charge. All staff will stay in comfortable hotel accommodation, in a single, twin room or shared apartment. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snacks are provided at the hotel, or packed lunch on days out. Some excursions are also free of charge. There are barbeque days and entertainment most evenings.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit focuses on the receptive skills: reading and listening. I have learned how to help students through pre-teaching vocabulary before starting a reading or listening activity, and carefully selecting listening and reading materials (authentic texts versus non-authentic texts). The unit covers the various different ways in which people listen/read, such as scanning and skimming. After reading module 3 I found out much useful information about developmental process of course design by considering various stages of contact with clients. It was interesting to learn how to determine the needs analysis, types of syllabus we can use during the lessons and how to make difference between various levels students might have before starting the Business English Course.
