The teacher must fill a plethora of roles in order to effectively teach students. Encouragement and feedback is important. There must be responsibility on both the teacher and the students in order for effective learning to take place. Different cultures will receive the content differently. I will likely be working in Asian cultures so I will need to emphasize the virtues of classroom discussion.I've always been curious about teaching a business specific English class. It seems like it would be very challenging, because everyone is at a different level of English overall, as well as the difficulty of understanding the kinds of vocabulary they need for their specific jobs. I also thought the breakdown of different kinds of beginners -- young vs adult, Roman alphabet vs not -- was very helpful.
