Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit I witnessed how great an effect the attitude of the teacher has upon the effectiveness of a lesson. In the first lesson the teacher displays dismissiveness, arrogance and seemingly has contempt towards the students for not producing the correct answers. In the second lesson, the teacher seems much more willing to engage the students in their learning rather than demanding the answers from them.As a current fifth year Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program participant, and having taught undergraduate courses at San Jose State University in California, USA, I can clearly understand and relate to the importance of effective classroom management. It is definitely a skill to develop the ability to gauge what is appropriate for the class and the student environment based on the material being covered.
